Saintsbury 2005 Garnet Carneros Pinot Nior

I am beginning to learn that there are more than subtle differences between Califonina and Oregon Pinot Nior’s. For that differences is the fruit forward nature of the Oregon Pinots. If you are looking for a jammy mouth full of fruit from this wine you will be disapointed. For me the wine is good for what it is. It has a hint of the fruit but is more green tea than cherry. The tannins are a little noticable on the finish so we paired it with a chicken with a rich sauce and thought it went well. At 13 dollars it also holds up to my own personal value test.
