2003 Gordon Brothers Cabernet Sauvignon

We were introduced to Washington state Cabs by some friends who live in Seattle. Since that time we have enjoyed Renniger, Snoqualmie, and of course Chateau St. Michelle. I have been interested in trying the Gordon Brothers wines for some time so when I saw a few bottles at the local Total Wine┬áI took the plunge. This wine is quite good. It’s really makes it’s own statement in that it’s not trying to be a big Napa Cab. The nose is quite interesting and complex with hints of leather and tobacco. The fruit is dark berry, currant and plumb come to mind. The finish is long and very toasty with cedar flavors. The tannins are well integrated and very balanced for a wine of this age. Excellent price to value ratio. At $20 retail we will be purchasing more of this wine.
